The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch/Wii U)

Post by BanjosBackpack » Sun Jun 12, 2016 8:55 pm

It's obvious we need this thread and we need it now. The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U and inevitably the NX is about to be unveiled finally and the hype is real. What we've seen up to this point equates just a small amount of footage on simple trailers. Some Amazon.com-leaked art shows some really beautiful and inspiring art direction by the team. I guess there has even been a rumor of the game featuring four 'main' dungeons and up to potentially 100 'mini-dungeons'. This is a staggering idea. What do you all think? Do you have any thoughts or predictions? Do you have any fears or concerns?

All is to be unveiled during E3 at Nintendo's Treehouse event on Tuesday the 14th. I will watch as much as I can but with work being a butt, I'll only be able to watch so much. Ninsage and I are recording a podcast Tuesday evening that I hope I can release on Wednesday evening before my big trip Thursday. It should be a Zelda (and to a lesser degree maybe, Pokemon) focused podcast. I am stoked.

Oh, here's that juicy artwork from the Amazon.com leak.

While we wait for the unveiling, I might as well say I've given up hope on this game's graphics. It'll always look like a blurry mess.

However, I am looking forward to the gameplay aspects and exploring everywhere too. I've lost hope for the graphics, so this is what I'm looking forward to seeing on Tuesday.

Another concern I have is about the navigational fairy thingy. There's bound to be one. Will they be nice? Will they be annoying?

Why do you think it'll be a blurry mess instead of a soft atmospheric beauty?

You forget Rocket is Irish, since he is perpetually drunk life is a blurry mess to him.
You cannot grasp the true form of this post! Sorry.

I find OoT to be a far blurrier mess than anything I've seen of Zelda U! That game gave (gives) me a headache.

That new image with the cliff is amazing looking, but I'm holding down my hype until we see more. The idea of such an open world game from Nintendo simply feels too good to be true. Could be the first of this sort for them, but I think it will be a lot less open than 90% of other "open" games. I think it will be normal Zelda in this very pretty clothing. :)
