Congrats!

I have one pre-ordered, too. I walked into my local GameStop and put it on reserve in person. Thankfully, my situation was completely hassle-free.

It took a month longer than I have liked but my SNES Classic finally came in today. Played around for 4 hours. Beat Contra 3.
You cannot grasp the true form of this post! Sorry.

On Friday, I plan on trekking early to my local Toys R Us to get the SNES Classic. Here's hoping I can pick one up.

Well, I'm now an owner of the SNES Classic, but it didn't happen like I thought it would.

ToysRus announced they'd have SNES Classics in stock on the Friday of the week I posted that. Unwisely, I stayed up late the night before, had trouble getting up, but still arrived at the store about fifteen minutes before it opened. As I pulled up to the store, I saw a line had already formed at the door. When I got out of my car, a guy was walking back to his car and told me all the systems were already claimed. *Insert the Price is Right failure music here* I went around to a few stores afterwards, but couldn't find any in stock.

Last week, I discovered an app that let you know if an item was in stock, and how much was available. Last Friday, Target had SNES Classics in stock. The problem? I just started a job, and had to wait until after work to pick one up. I spent the day watching in horror as all the local stores sold out or neared selling out. However, a store about a half hour away from my work still had four in stock by the time I got out. Made the drive, hoping they wouldn't sell out before I got there.

They didn't, and I walked out of Target with my brand new SNES Classic. Very happy, as I can bring it with me this Thanksgiving and introduce my nephews to the games I loved when I was in middle school.

I have so far completed Super Mario World, and then just the other day, Super Metroid. Next I might finish the holy trinity with The Legend of Zelda: Link To The Past.

Gah, hearing about those games makes me long for a Switch VC so badly...

I probably wouldn't have been playing these without the SNES Classic. Wouldn't buy them again on Switch (at least en masse)... unless they were under $5. They won't be on any future VC. Man it'd be great if they were though.
