Wherein I Rank the 20 Games on the SNES Classic

I'm not including Star Fox 2 since I haven't played it yet so it would be pointless. Maybe in the future I'll update this where I think appropriate.

If you don't know I am a major SNES fan, you might even say fanboy. I fought the great 16-bit wars against the Genesis Acolytes, fended off the 3DO and Jaguar usurpers and didn't know what the TG-16 was. It was a good era. Lots of great games where made and many classics were released. If you are my age and don't have fond memories of this era you are weird and you should go sit in the corner.

Now I will, with complete subjective objectivity, rank the 20 games on the system. If you disagree, well too bad, you are wrong.

Having not given Earthbound a proper go, I can't say I agree or disagree with that. However I would certainly put SMW above SMW2 IMO. Otherwise, It's not surprising to me to see the ones at the top of the list where they're at.

What gamers are you playing now with the SNES Classic? How long does Earthbound usually take to beat?

Amazon has yet to actually ship out SNES Classics but I own in various forms every game on that list.

And I'd say 20 hours give or take your RPG skills.

Completely agree with Dream Course. Screw that game.

Chrono Trigger should be #1 though.

I don’t care that it is not officially on the SNES Classic. It should be #1 regardless. If you disagree, I’m sorry but you’re wrong.

I don't even dislike any of those games just Dream Course being golf and I am terrible at video golf. Even Kirby themed video golf.

I'm not a fan of golf games, but the only exception of that is Kirby's Dream Course. It's different from any other golf game I've ever played, and uses Kirby's powers in an interesting way. Plus, I dig the music in the game. It would rank higher on my own list, but that's what's fun about lists as we all have different favorites.

Glad to see Earthbound at the top. I'm not sure where it will rank in mine, but definitely top 3. I do wish Chrono Trigger was in the SNES Classic, and I'd even say I'd prefer it over the fantastic Final Fantasy III/VI. The great thing about the SNES is there's probably at least fifty SNES games you could list and put in and replace some of the current titles and it would still be worth buying.
